Millwork Sales Specialist Training Program

A Carter Custom Millwork Sales Specialist Training Program employee will be trained on the responsibility of fulfilling special orders and finding sales opportunities with local contractors. This is accomplished by producing needed materials, calculating measurements, identifying target customers and making calls. This position will also entail sales techniques, developing customers, following through with commitments, and heavy communication. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Suggested Work Experience (not required):
Previous sales experience is a plus
Understanding of Custom/Architectural Millwork
Field measuring capabilities is a plus
General carpentry skills are a plus
Experience in blueprint reading, estimating and millwork takeoffs
General understanding of pricing
Demonstrated ability to create new sales opportunities and improve profitability
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented, self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
Responsibilities:
1. Sales
Responsible for maintaining and increasing the sales of interior Millwork products manufactured by Carter Custom Millwork.
Quotes jobs for these products and ensures that they are ordered and shipped on time.
Visits builders with store representatives to answer questions and assist in closing sales.
2. Customer Service
Conducts jobsite visits when product quality issues arise.
Identifies and provides solutions by performing related troubleshooting tasks.
Keeps lines of communication open between the team members at the store and customers to ensure that service is accurate and timely.
3. Production/Set- up
Produces custom millwork based on customer's design illustrations including products such as moulding, pre-hung interior doors, and casework.
Reviews and analyzes custom orders to ensure proper materials are provided and available

Standing for long periods of time
Travel
Must be willing to travel to various markets within the Carter Footprint to be trained on all aspects listed above.
Training time will range from 6-12 months
Placement
Applicant will be placed in a market once Management deems they are adequately prepared to perform said duties.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
