Distribution Center Supervisor (1st Shift)

OVERVIEW
The Middlefield Distribution Center is a pivotal point for inbound and outbound freight throughout our North American distributor network encompassing a 220,000 ft2 footprint and approximately 80,000 SKU's.
The supervisor position will be responsible for effectively leading associates to ensure safety of our team members, satisfaction of customer expectations, and logistical requirements while executing the Tarkett Strategy and embracing Tarkett's vision, mission, and objectives. This position will proactively lead, train, support, coach and direct his or her assigned work team to execute operational plans. A candidate must be able to drive continuous improvement through World Class Manufacturing (WCM) while sustaining effective associate relationships. This position will properly maintain and communicate records, reports, and data collection in a timely and complete manner. This position reports directly to Distribution Center Manager.
ESSESNTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for daily shift warehouse operations and associated administrative responsibilities
Improve, drive and maintain shipping efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, training requirements driving productivity and associate engagement.
Meet customer requirements; ensure productivity levels are reached in an effective and efficient manner and maintaining quality performance objectives
Assures product and process quality through adherence to design specifications, engineering routers, process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes and World Class Manufacturing principles.
Complete productivity improvement projects by training and guiding hourly personnel
Contributes to the teams' effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Learn, understand, and communicate compliance issues related to company guidelines, union contract, and employment laws.
Provide coaching and guidance as required, including but not limited to administration of the corrective action and all company policies.
Assure adherence and enforce company policies and procedures including but not limited to Human Resources, Safety, Quality and Environment
Create and implement cost savings thru LEAN initiatives
Able to perform the following: reach, bend and lift objects weighing seventy-five pounds to shoulder level or above, read labels and shipping tickets at a height of thirty feet
Ability to work twelve hour days while operating a powered industrial truck
Ability to step on and off a height of twenty-four inches to operate machinery
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact with associates, managers, and peers.
Experience operating within quality framework such as ISO9001, ISO14000, ISO1800
Participate in cross-functional teams for small projects as a project lead. Develop documentation such as project plans and schedules, requirements documents, meeting minutes, team communications, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.???)
Ability to work a flexible schedule in a continuous work environment, including nightshift operations.
Must be capable of effectively communicating information to top management, peers, cross-functional team members, and operations staff.
Self-starter with a drive and desire to manage multiple projects from start to completion with effective and competitive results.
Proven leadership with multi-functional task-oriented teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other related field
4 Years of Warehouse/Distribution experience or within a supervisory role
Ability to work a flexible schedule - Multiple Shifts
Demonstrated technical leadership or military leadership experience / education
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous improvement methodology and/or Visual Shop-Floor Management
HRIS / ERP experience is a plus (Ulti-Pro / SAP)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
