Summary:
The Milling Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Milling Department, to ensure we make quality products to engineering specifications and to ensure the department runs in a smooth, efficient manner at all times.
This position includes creating, modifying and optimizing the CNC milling and CNC mill/turn programs and any future machines that are implemented.
Essential Skills and
Responsibilities:
Develop skills of associates in the areas of leadership, customer support, problem solving etc.
Resolve any associate performance issues as needed.
Create and maintain an environment that promotes teamwork, positive attitudes, collaboration and efficiency.
Provide direction in All aspects of the machining processes, work instructions and able to train these skills to other team members.
Skilled in all standard measurement devices as well as the optical comparators to allow decision making on product conformity.
Collaborates with Plant Manager and production control about scheduling issues and concerns.
Support quality needs on inspection methods and sharing of information to verify parts Maintain good housekeeping in department Ensure the equipment in Milling receives preventative maintenance at the correct intervals.
Complete set-ups on jobs in a timely manner based on quoted hours Create programs that meets or improves the quoted cycle times for each project Responsible to maintain Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the department Ensure employees are trained in process work instructions.
Ensure proper Product Identification and Line Clearance procedures are met at all times in the department.
Support Quality during CAPA review and help determine Root Cause and Corrective actions on machining issues.
Supporting the quoting function by providing setup, cycle time hours along with tooling and fixturing costs for incoming opportunities.
Keep tooling cabinet stocked with necessary tooling for jobs.
Any other duties as assigned that Troy Innovative or management team would need you for.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
3
years in Manufacturing experience preferred Experience in programming and set ups on 5 axis vertical milling centers Experience in programming Mazak with Mazatrol Control, preferred Computer skills - Gibbs Cam, SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, and Excel Good communications skills High School Education Able to work in a team environment Self-motivated and self-driven This is a full-time, salaried position.
Pay is based upon skill and experience.
