Controls Engineer (Full-Time)WEISS North America, Inc - Willoughby, OH (Cleveland, OH)Salary/ExemptJob DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience of motion control components and controls, machinery, and factory automation equipment.
The Controls Engineer must have a strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs.
The ability to understand equipment integration and machine building is key in this position.
This position does require travel for service, up to 25%.
The position reports to the Controls Manager.

$70,000 - $95,000 -- Comepetitive & Open to DiscussionJob Responsibilities Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.
g.
, SolidWorks) Help establish new and maintain existing company standards Configure hardware / software for electrical systems per customer specification and orders.
Setup completed using Rockwell Software:
Studio 5000, Drive Executive, FactoryTalk View ME, and CCW.
Weiss WAS2 software also used for system configuration Project work consisting of panel builds and demo unit construction including design, assembly, and programming.
Work with customers on projects that require proof of concept testing Work with Sales Engineers to provide input with quote preparation as required Provide high quality pre-sales, design-in and post-sales technical support to customer Work closely with German counterpart to assist in development of software Create standard operating procedures to achieve efficient processes relating to testing product, customer support, internal processes, etc.
Learn and support third party products used in conjunction with legacy product Provide customer with technical support using phone and emails Provide on-site machine start-ups and field service for installed base troubleshooting Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar related degree) Minimum of 3-5 years related job experience Knowledge of proper control enclosure assembly standards (US and Europe) Ability to create electrical drawing/schematics (E-plan, AutoCAD, etc.
) PLC programming knowledge (Rockwell, Siemens, B&R) Servo motor and drive sizing capabilities Willing to travel up to 25% Proficient with Microsoft Suite Preferred programming knowledge (B&R, Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch) Ability to efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals General knowledge of machine tool types, their function and typical machining process Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team atmosphere Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks with a sense of urgency PI226599332 Recommended Skills Auto Cad Automation Communication Construction Creativity Critical Thinking Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
